“Banished Citizens” wins the David J. Weber Prize
Congratulations to Dr. Marla Ramírez, whose book, “Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation“, has just won the David J. Weber Prize for the best book on the Southwestern United States from the Western History Association.
“Banished Citizens” explores the period in American immigration history when approximately one million ethnic Mexicans were forced to relocate across the southern border.
