CHICLA 467: U.S. Latino Literature (Crosslisted Spanish)

Study of the literature of Latin@s in the United States: the representation of their experience in this country and the linguistic, cultural and formal singularity of their literature. Traces the development of Hispanic/Latin@ literature, its trends, the incorporation of newer Latin@ migrant communities in the US, question how the literature is defined, and addresses its poetics and present state. Explores the intersectionality of ethnicity, class, gender, migration, sexuality, and literary forms.
