The Wisconsin Latinx History Collective is a network of faculty, staff, and students from six Wisconsin universities and two out-of-state institutions along with numerous community members who have been trained by the core team. This unprecedented network of researchers, and their organizational partners, are dedicated to “retro-fitting” Latinxs within Wisconsin’s history; centering Latinxs where they have often been erased, their contributions to the state have been minimized, and the discrimination and racism they endured has been ignored. By seeking, gathering and showcasing resources that correct, complicate, and/or diversify the traditional narrative, the work of the WLHC centers Wisconsin’s Latinxs.
