Lalo Alcaraz is a well-known illustrator and Chicano artist, and an award-winning nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist and the creator of the syndicated daily comic strip, “LA cucaracha”, published daily since 2002. He has worked as a writer, producer, and consultant for film, TV, and animation, including projects at Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney, Fox, and Xbox. He has been an Artist-in-Residence at various universities, and a recipient of prestigious awards, such as 2022 Herblock Prize winner for editorial Cartoonist. His cartoons have been collected in such books as LA cucaracha (2004), Migra Mouse: Political Cartoons on Immigration (2004), and the illustrations for Ilan Stavans’s book, A Cartoon History of Latinos in the United States (2000). He also hosts the irreverent weekly talk show “Pocho Hour of Power” on KPFK radio in Los Angeles.
