Jeanette Arellano

Jeanette Arellano is a visual artist with Voces de los Artistas, an affinity group with more than 50 members, established in 2016 in Milwaukee. Inspired by the affinity model pioneered by Gran Fury during the ACT UP movement of the 1980s, the group collaborates directly with community organization Voces de la Frontera, producing picket signs, posters, and other forms of creative activist art. The group also documents actions by Voces de la Frontera with film and video, creating public archives to teach and share the group’s tactics with others. Jeanette Arellano is a member of the group. Voces de la Frontera is the premier Latinx-led labor rights, immigrant rights, and political organization in Wisconsin.
