Biography
Hello! My name is Rachelle Eilers (Rah-shell Eye-lurs, she/her/ella), and I am the Academic Advising Manager (Advisor) for the Chicanx/e & Latinx/e Studies (CLS) Program. I work with students to navigate CLS major and certificate requirements, guide them through the declaration process, recommend courses, explore career pathways, prepare for graduate/professional school, and provide support during challenging situations. Whether students have academic questions or need help finding campus resources, I am here to support them throughout their journey.
As a proud first-generation college graduate from Racine, Wisconsin, I am passionate about supporting students, especially those from underrepresented communities, as they pursue their educational goals. I earned my B.A. in Political Science with certificates in Chicanx/e & Latinx/e Studies and African Studies, as well as my M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, all from UW.
Before joining the CLS Program, I advised undergraduate students in the PEOPLE Program and previously worked in the College of Engineering’s Diversity Affairs Office. Since joining CLS, I’ve been honored to help grow the program and support the launch of Wisconsin’s first major in Chicanx/e & Latinx/e Studies.
A campus of this size can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re just getting started. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping students navigate both the university and its campus climate so they feel informed, supported, and empowered to succeed. My goal is for every student to leave my office feeling confident, connected, and inspired to pursue their dreams.
