Theresa Delgadillo Receives Brittingham Trust Award

Prof. Theresa Delgadillo (English/CLS) has received a grant from the University’s Brittingham Trust for a project titled “Latinx Studies in the Digital Sphere” to create two Open Educational Resources on the topics of Latinxs and Environmental Change and Latinxs and Gender Equality, in partnership an advanced undergraduate student. These Mini-Readers will follow the pattern of Latinxs and Black Lives Matter, Latinx Talk Mini-Reader #1 , a resource that Prof. Delgadillo created in Spring/Summer 2021. The project will deepen student engagement with interdisciplinary Latinx Studies, enhance student experience with digital platforms and digital publishing, and create an opportunity for faculty-student collaboration and mentorship. As Open Educational Resources, the Mini-Readers are available for use by institutions of higher education and learning as well as community groups.  A native of Milwaukee and a widely published expert on Latinx spirituality, narrative, and public culture, Theresa Delgadillo joined the UW-Madison faculty in 2019.
