Professor Victor Goldgel-Carballo (Spanish & Portuguese) has developed two exciting new classes, which he will teach next semester. “Introduction to Race in the Americas,” to be taught in English, examines how the experiences of marginalized groups in the U.S. are profoundly intertwined with hemispheric historical processes. In “Decolonial Debates,” to be taught in Spanish, students will read Latin American texts that challenge the assumptions and effects of colonialism.
