Daily Cardinal Highlights the Work of Prof. Michael Light

As part of an issue focused on immigration in Wisconsin, the Daily Cardinal highlighted the teaching and research of Michael Light. A Professor of Sociology and Chican@ & Latin@ Studies, Light has been teaching the class “Immigration, Crime, and Enforcement” since he arrived on campus in 2017. As the Cardinal notes, the class is consistently full and is a mainstay of the Chican@ & Latin@ Studies certificate and major. It is also particularly important to Sociology and Legal Studies. Continually updated as the situation in the U.S. changes, the class examines the empirical reality of the relationship between immigration and crime, the intersection of immigration law and criminal law, and the effects of policy changes in both areas.
